EIA’s main aim is to teach English right from nursery level

This priority of teaching English emanates from the opening of the European borders and thus global market. Scientists, linguists and teacher alike agree that nursery level is the best favourable time to initiate a new language.
It is at this age that the child’s curiosity is at its peak, ready to absorb and memorize vocabulary and grammatical structures as fast as lightning. This natural curiosity is not only confined to language, but it also opens up their desire to learn about the world around them and facilitates easy learning, especially in mathematics.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the children are stimulated each and every day in a perfectly natural way. They are encouraged to speak through role play, flash card and books, as well as through drawing, painting, music, chess and tennis.
In such a learning atmosphere every part of the children’s brain is stimulated, making them more open-minded and have no difficulty in tackling primary education.
At this particular age, emphasis is laid on “playing”, as it represents dialogue and team work, thus giving each child the chance to express themselves freely.
The final results are astounding both on the language level as well as on each pupil’s individual progress. The objective is to bring out the best in each child.
The school set up
Immersed upon their arrival in the English language, English becomes their natural means of expression.
For this, the school has set up a structure and equipment adapted for this learning. The children are enrolled from the age of two and find a qualified and competent teacher for this age group. The children are divided in classes by their respective ages in a building that has been set up for their comfort and development
The learning takes place through games and the children find pleasure in expressing themselves through use of this new language.
The day is divided into short sequences which the child is familiar with and remains reassured all day long. Regardless of whatever section they belong to the day has a set routine
Morning: language, graphic, gymnastic and play time
Afternoon: nap or quiet time for the older ones, then manual activities and collectives games.
The school is built in such a way that the classes are at a close proximity to the play room, the dormitory and playground.
Workshops are organized for the middle and big sections so that children can develop their natural curiosity and enrich their daily activities.
Middle class : chess lesson, mini-tennis and music introduction through the percussions.Top class: violin, chess and tennis classes and introduction to multimedia
The top class has the privilege of French class which prepares them for their entry in primary school.
For these two classes, close attention is put in their learning about good citizenship and the environment.
Educational methods
The two main pedagogy : teaching the official program put in place by the National Education board.
The objective of respecting the French program allows children from the European Infant Academy to easily integrate for they have similar basics as the others children for their entry in primary school. Other typical activities are games, writing, etc…
Early-learning activities are done to develop and stimulate the children’s capacities and potentials. In this manner, the bilingual children, after their four years of learning in European infant academy have a considerable advancement in their future school years.
European Infant Academy’s projects
After the parents requested for a follow up of their children’s learning there exist:
Workshops of “after school” which allow children in nursery school to come back to European Infant Academy to enrich and conserve their linguistic acquisitions. This workshop take place after school and it usually takes the form of conversation classes, exchange games in small groups, led by a teacher dedicated to this work.
The extension project of the school has begun with the opening of three new classes allow the continuation into the first cycle of junior school (class 1,2,3) for bilingual learning. The school was founded in 1990 and children from the European Infant Academy are interested in a complete curriculum all the while teaching and integrating English from primary school level. But one can only find this kind of structure set up in Paris.
